A blog describing art and life on a small Christmas tree farm. I live on my family's Christmas tree farm called Hood View Acres. It is at the base of Mt. Hood in Northwest Oregon.

Journal from the Canby Public Library
I created this journal from a kit provided by the Canby Public Library.
I started with a composition notebook cover with several different pieces of decorative paper. Adhere lace along the binding. Adhere the number die-cuts. Adhere the die-cut flowers. Thread embroidery floss through a button and adhere to the center of the flower. I choose not to put tabs for the month because when I journal I am not that orderly.

Snowman Ornament
Adhere two size styrofoam balls together with hot glue. Mix Elmer's white glue and water together. Dip white tissue paper into the glue mix. Cover the styrofoam balls. Let dry for 24 hours. Glue the pipe cleaner to the "head" and then glue the black pompoms where the ears should be. Stick the silver pipe cleaners into the side of the large ball. Cut out two mittens from red felt and adhere over the end of the pipe cleaners. Stick an orange toothpick into the center of the smaller ball to create a nose. Draw the eyes, mouth, and buttons on the snowman. Cut a piece of green ribbon and adhere it to the neck like a scarf.
