Matchbox Shrines


Ingredients
Empty Matchbox
Magazine Images
Decorative Paper
Ribbon
Seed Beads 
Vintage Photo
Flatback Pearls
Buttons
Label Maker and Tape
Loteria Cards
Matte Medium
Glitter
Vintage Music Paper

Steps
1.  Empty matchbox and cover with decorative paper
2.  Create a collage/assemblage for the interior of the box.
3.  Decorate the outside of the box.  


I created two different shrines using different components for the assemblage.

Button Collage

 



This button collage was a kit and class from the Tigard Library.  Here is the link to the YouTube video.

Ingredients
Stretch Canvas
Blue Acrylic Paint
Paint Brush
Collage Glue
Glue Brush
Hot Glue and Glue Gun
White Buttons in several sizes
Clear Buttons in several sizes
Flatback pearls in several sizes
Star confetti
Chalk

Step 
1.  Paint the canvas with blue acrylic and let dry.
2.  Using white chalk draw a moon shape.
3.  With hot glue, adhere large buttons to the shape.  
4.  Spread collage glue around the big buttons and then fill in the moon image with smaller buttons.  
5.  Place flatback pearls around the buttons.  
6.  Spread collage glue around the canvas and adhere star confetti.  Let dry.

Glass Painting


Ingredients
Glass (Use glass from a picture frame)
Acrylic Paint
Dawn Dish Soap
Paint Brush
Image Print Out
Water
Rubbing Alcohol
Cotton Ball

Steps
1.  Mix dawn dish soap into acrylic paint.  This will thicken the paint as well as making it easier to wipe off the glass if a mistake is made.  
2. Using rubbing alcohol and a cotton ball clean the glass.  Let dry.
3.  Lay the image under the glass.  This image is from Free to be Me Art.  
4.  Paint the outline of the image.  Let dry.  
5.  Using a daubing motion paint the image.  Remember to paint the foreground first and each layer working to the background.  
6.  Let dry and then frame.

Snowman bowl


 Ingredients

Crayola Model Magic
Acrylic Paint
Paint Brush
Sticks
Liquid Glue

Steps

1.  Divide Model Magic into three balls and then pinch them into three pots in three sizes.  
2.  Create hash marks where you want to bond the bowls together. Bond them together.
3.  Using the sticks poke holes in the middle bowl where you want the arms to be.  
4.  Let it dry for about 3 days.  
5.  Paint with white acrylic paint.  Repeat three times.  Letting it dry between each layer.  
6.  Paint the face and buttons on with acrylic paint.  Let dry.
7.  Using liquid glue, glue the sticks into the armholes.  Let dry.
